Recently, I had such a rich and vibrant conversation with a successful and deeply grounded businesswoman, who shared with me a moment when a sense of helplessness came over her with great intensity.<\/span><\/p>

Through this experience, she came into contact with a part of herself that terrified her, because she felt out of control and didn\u2019t recognize who she was. Then, little by little, <\/span>she came to terms with that feeling of helplessness and finally rediscovered all the power that resides within her!<\/b><\/p>

And what was very touching to me was what her young daughter shared with her, saying, \u201cMom, you\u2019ll get well soon because I pray for you every night.\u201d \u201d<\/span><\/p>

In a world where everything moves fast and is primarily outward-focused, the fact that a 10-year-old girl is aware of <\/span>the power of the heart <\/b>is extraordinary\u2026 no matter how she \u201cprays\u201d\u2026 I truly felt that it was through <\/span>her connection to her heart<\/b> and <\/span>her love for her mother<\/b> that everything took flight.<\/span><\/p>

So well done, young girl\u2026 and thank you from the bottom of my heart!<\/span><\/p>

So here is the continuation of the insights I received after that conversation.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Illusion of Control<\/b><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

We\u2019ve learned to associate power with a certain form of rigidity and strength. To be strong, we\u2019re told, is to know, to foresee, and above all\u2026 to control.<\/span><\/p>

Very early on, we develop the idea that <\/span>our worth depends on our ability to hold things together<\/b>. To find solutions and avoid failures.<\/span><\/p>

But this strength is often strained because it rests on a <\/span>silent fear<\/b>: the fear of losing, of not being enough, of failing to protect what matters.<\/span><\/p>

So we act, we anticipate, and we try to fix things. We seek to <\/span>regain control<\/b> over what is slipping away from us. And yet\u2026 the more we try to control, the more something inside us tightens.<\/span><\/p>

Because life always ends up leading us to places the<\/span> mind cannot resolve<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The moment of helplessness<\/b><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Then there are those moments when nothing responds.<\/span><\/p>

No strategy <\/i><\/b>works.<\/span><\/i>
<\/span><\/i>No answer<\/i><\/b> comes.<\/span><\/i>
<\/span><\/i>No way out <\/i><\/b>emerges.<\/span><\/i><\/p>

Whether it\u2019s an illness, a breakup, some kind of loss\u2026 or a dream that\u2019s slow to take shape, or even a financial situation that seems hopeless.<\/span><\/p>

Helplessness<\/b> often feels like a fall into the void or an inner fracture. It <\/span>directly confronts the ego with its limits<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

Because deep down, what is most painful about helplessness is not just the pain of the situation\u2026 it is the<\/span> inability to control what is happening<\/b>. And the ego really doesn\u2019t like that.<\/span><\/p>

That said, behind this rupture, something else becomes possible. <\/span>Helplessness is sometimes a sacred pause<\/b>\u2026 a pause in the effort\u2026 a pause in the constant outward movement.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In this pause\u2026 something opens up.<\/span><\/p>

When action becomes impossible,<\/span> attention gently begins to shift<\/b>. No longer toward what needs to be changed, but rather <\/span>toward what is already available<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

Helplessness <\/span>peels away the layers of control one by one <\/b>and exposes raw vulnerability. And in that nakedness,<\/span> the heart becomes perceptible<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

Not as a distant idea, but as an inner space that welcomes without struggle.<\/span><\/i><\/p>

This gentle space that is created does not immediately seek to fix or understand.<\/span>
<\/span>It is a space that remains present\u2026 a space that invites us to another form of<\/span> Presence<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

Often, it is precisely there that a deeper connection is born\u2014with oneself, with life, with something vaster than our personal will.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

When helplessness becomes prayer<\/b><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Imagine a 10-year-old girl whose mother is sick.<\/span><\/p>

She can do nothing.<\/span><\/i>
<\/span><\/i>She doesn\u2019t understand everything.<\/span><\/i>
<\/span><\/i>She has no power over the situation.<\/span><\/i><\/p>

Around her, the adults are looking for solutions. The doctors are trying to treat her.<\/span>
<\/span>Her mom is resting and crying\u2026 Conversations are often kept quiet, so as not to worry her.<\/span><\/p>

And she\u2026 she is there, in the middle of it all\u2026 Helpless. Then one evening, alone in her room, <\/span>she closes her eyes. And she prays<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

Part of her knows that her<\/span> heart is powerful <\/b>and that her heart naturally seeks to <\/span>connect with the infinite, with the source of all that exists<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

In that moment, something very pure emerges.<\/span><\/p>

She doesn\u2019t bargain with life.<\/span><\/i>
<\/span><\/i>She doesn\u2019t hide her pain.<\/span><\/i>
<\/span><\/i>She doesn\u2019t try to control the outcome.<\/span><\/i><\/p>

She simply loves<\/b>\u2026 she loves deeply with such purity!<\/span><\/p>

Her prayer becomes a<\/span> movement of the heart<\/b>\u2026 A simple surrender and a <\/span>sincere openness<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

And even if the external situation does not change immediately, something within her is transformed.<\/span><\/p>

She discovers, without yet being able to name it, that <\/span>there is an inner space vaster than fear<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The helplessness felt as an adult<\/b><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

This experience does not disappear with age. It simply takes on different forms.<\/span><\/p>

  • A man loses his job after having built his entire identity around his professional success.<\/span><\/li>
  • A woman realizes she can no longer save a relationship despite all her efforts.<\/span><\/li>
  • A person is drowning in debt and no longer knows how to go on.<\/span><\/li>
  • A parent watches their child suffer without being able to bear the pain in their place.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    In those moments, something breaks. And often, after resistance, after anger or discouragement\u2026 comes a <\/span>quieter space<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

    A space where the human being momentarily stops trying to carry everything alone.<\/span><\/p>

    Sometimes they ask for help<\/b>, sometimes they cry, sometimes they pray. Sometimes, they simply sit in silence. And in this vulnerability<\/span>, the heart becomes accessible again<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The Heart as an Anchor<\/b><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    What powerlessness reveals at a deep level is that<\/span> the heart has never stopped being there<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

    When the mind can no longer take the lead, when the usual mechanisms no longer work, something more essential can finally emerge.<\/span><\/p>

    What I call the <\/span>Neutrality of the Heart<\/b> appears here\u2014not as a philosophy, but as a direct experience: feeling fully without getting lost in fear or control.<\/span><\/p>

    In this space, there is no longer an image to maintain\u2026 No role to play. Only a <\/span>true and authentic Presence<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    \n\t\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
    Another Form of Power<\/b><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    The power that arises from this space is not spectacular, for it does not dominate.<\/span>
    <\/span>It does not force itself upon others, and above all, it does not seek to convince. It is <\/span>calm<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

    It is a<\/span> power that no longer depends on external results<\/b>. A power that remains present even in the face of uncertainty, for it stems from<\/span> inner alignment.<\/b><\/p>

    It is the power of a human being who finally accepts that they cannot control everything\u2026<\/span>
    <\/span>and who discovers that they can still love, breathe, move forward, and stay open.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    We often spend our lives avoiding helplessness. <\/span>Yet it can become a profoundly transformative passage<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

    It undoes what was built on fear.<\/span><\/i>
    <\/span><\/i>It defuses our defense mechanisms.<\/span><\/i>
    <\/span><\/i>It brings us back to something simpler and more authentic.<\/span><\/i><\/p>

    We don\u2019t always choose to enter it. But when it happens, it\u2019s possible not to flee this space immediately. To stay a moment longer. To <\/span>breathe at the very heart of what seems unbearable<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

    And sometimes\u2026 that\u2019s exactly where something within us begins to transform and regenerate. Not because everything is resolved. But because <\/span>an inner separation begins to dissolve<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Conclusion<\/strong><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    What if helplessness isn\u2019t the opposite of power?<\/b> What if it\u2019s the threshold to it?<\/span><\/p>

    Where control collapses, something deeper becomes accessible. The heart doesn\u2019t appear when everything is perfect. It often appears when we stop pretending we can carry everything alone\u2026 because we begin to listen to it.<\/span><\/p>

    And in this space where nothing really holds anymore, where answers are lacking and the mind grows weary\u2026 another form of Presence becomes possible.<\/span><\/p>

    A Presence that is quieter, truer, and more alive.<\/b> One that is always available yet not fully accessible.<\/span><\/p>

    What if powerlessness didn\u2019t exist to diminish us, but rather to <\/span>assist us to open up to something greater<\/b>\u2026 to the Presence of our heart, always available and welcoming.<\/span><\/p>
